These lovely samples arrived today, I know the bottom one came via a SoPost sampling but I’m not sure about the top one! Anyway, up top I have samples of Alien EDP and Alien Flora Futura, I haven’t opened them to smell them yet but they feel like they have some towelettes inside the packaging. I’m hoping they do as I love it when I receive perfume samples this way 😀
Below that is a small bottle of Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair which from the directions for use seems to be a serum type product. I love a good serum so am looking forward to trying this one out 🙂
Now we come to my other delivery today, I’m putting the picture under the description for a few reasons, I hope none of you mind 🙂 Over the weekend I found a bundle of beauty items on eBay which were a bit disguised (all upside down or covered by other items), it was easy to make out a few of the products that I am very familiar with but most I couldn’t even guess at but I counted around 30 items and with those I knew were there I placed a bid I was happy with.
I won the auction and the items arrived here today – I am totally blown away with what I have received. There are loads more items than I expected – 61 in fact! Yes there are some duplicates but that’s not a problem, not even the 4 identical brushes as I’m sure that whatever I decide I can’t use, someone in our families will find a home for 😉 Also, the observant among you might notice all of the items I received in my Tili box last November are there, these are the items I noticed and based my bid upon and the ones I wanted most as the box did live up to it’s name of ‘Try it, Love it’ 😀
Today seems to have been a day of doubles!
ASOS – Oskia Renaissance Mask. As I seem to keep saying this year, masks are a good thing to get, they give you a great excuse for a pampering night and they normally do your skin a whole lot of good! This is one of today’s doubles, the other came from the Look Fantastic calendar on day 10 🙂
L’Occitane – Amande Shower oil. This I really don’t like using, I know there are a lot of fans of this product out there but I really am not one of them so this will be finding a new home shortly 🙂
Look Fantastic – High Definition Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palette. This is filled with gorgeous shades of brown and cream, you can see them over on my Instagram feed where I have opened this out. This is definitely one to keep 🙂
M&S – Autograph Hydrating Primer. This states on the packaging that it is a confidence boosting primer. Sometimes you just have to love the things these people put on their products! Oh well, lets hope it does the trick 😉
Mrs Brimbles – Stickers. This is yet another repeat from last year (Day 5) sadly. I’m kind of glad this one will be over soon, the other calendars I will miss opening as they have mostly been fabulous products but I’m not going to miss this one and it’s varying levels of disappointment at all!
You Beauty – Ren Skincare Instant Firming Beauty Shot. This is the last double products today, I received this from the M&S calendar on day 17 and it still sounds like a great product.
ASOS – Codage Scrubbing Cream. This sounds like a really nice exfoliator. I’ve used one in the past but found it too harsh for my skin, hopefully with the additional ingredients in this one it will be kinder to me 🙂
L’Occitane – Relaxing Shower Gel. This one is really herbal and luckily D enjoys it so it’s one for him, I just find the scent all wrong for my liking 🙂
Look Fantastic – Omorovicza Limited Edition Hungarian Mist. You might have noticed through the posts about what I am getting from my advent calendars that I enjoy face mists, well this one is the one I have most been looking forward to getting my hands on and it smells just as amazing as I heard it does. I am very happy with this one and cant wait to start using it 😀
M&S – Ren Instant Firming Beauty Shot. The instructions on this make it sound like a serum, at least you use it like one and since I do need to use a serum to get the best results from my routine this is a welcome addition to my collection of beauty products 😀
Mrs Brimbles – Sequins. I’m not sure on what planet these could be described as a stationery item but I feel this is yet another useless item from this calendar this year sadly.
You Beauty – Dr Organic snail gel eye serum. I’m really not sure about this one, it has great reviews but snail gel?? oh well, I guess it needs to be tried 😀
ASOS – Carmex Mint Moisturising Lip Balm. I love Carmex but have yet to try this one (I got hooked on the cherry pot and never tried any others, Oops!) so this is good for me to try something new from a brand I trust 🙂
L’Occitane – Arlesiene perfumed Soap. When I first unwrapped this calendar I wondered what the smell was coming from it and I found out today. It’s not totally unpleasant it is just very, very floral and I’m not really a floral person so I’m plotting what I can do with this already! 😀
Look Fantastic – ModelCo Retractable Brow Pencil in light/medium. Another brow product is great for me and the colour should be fine too 🙂
M&S – Percy & Reed Session Hold Spray. I’m loving Percy & Reed products right now so it’s great to have another one to try 😀
Mrs Brimbles – Stickers. If these look familiar to you, it’s because I received exactly the same set last year on day 19!
You Beauty – SportFX makeup setting mist. This also says it can be used as a facial refresher which is great for me as I use facial mists a lot especially this time of year when the heating tends to dry my skin out even more than normal 🙂
ASOS – Cowshed Natural Lip Balm. I just love the names of the Cowshed products (this is called Lippy Cow) and have enjoyed all the ones I’ve tried so far. This is a new one for me but at this time of year it is a very handy one 🙂
L’Occitane – Citrus Verbena Shower Gel. I love the regular verbena range so I was really happy to see this included in the calendar so I could try it for myself. It smells just like the regular one but with a huge shot of lemon added which is really nice and, if possible, makes this one even fresher than the other! 😀
Look Fantastic – Korres Wild Rose Sleeping Facial. Well, this is a surprise double product as both Korres were listed slightly differently on their respective calendars but this is the same as the product I found in the M&S calendar a week ago. It still sounds interesting and I’m looking forward to trying it out once all the doors are open 😀
M&S – Emma Hardie Moringa Balm. This is one product I really don’t like, I’ve never tried it so I’ve no idea how effective this is, I’m just really not keen on how this smells 😦
Mrs Brimbles – Ephemera. More useless bits of printed on card again today. If they had been Christmassy in any way I could have used them as gift tags but again, these are pretty useless to your average stationery addict!
You Beauty – Charles Worthington Shampoo & Conditioner. Bumper day from this calendar as it had 2!! products hiding behind today’s door 😀 Very useful being the takeaway size and they are from Charles Worthington’s Moisture Seal range 😀
ASOS – This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray. So this is another of the 4 things I’m getting 2 of through my calendars this year, the other came from the You Beauty calendar a few days ago. I’m still looking forward to seeing if this works as I’m not trying anything properly until I have opened all the doors 🙂
L’Occitane – Effervescent Revitalizing Sugar Cube For Bath. This is scented with mint, pine and rosemary and so smells very herbal. It’s great for clearing the sinuses (I was a little stuffy this morning!lol) so I might keep it for next time I have a cold 😀
Look Fantastic – Moroccanoil Treatment. I keep hearing things about this product but so far I’ve never tried it, I guess that is all going to change in the new year though and I really am hoping for good things from this 🙂
M&S – Shay & Blue Blood Oranges. As much as I enjoyed last years perfume, this one is so much more me! It smells just like putting your nose in a huge bowl of very fresh oranges and I love it! 😀
Mrs Brimbles – Washi tape. I’ve no real comment on this today, it’s ugly tape and I can’t really see a use for it yet as I like pretty parcels and this isn’t pretty!
You Beauty – Sukin hydrating mist toner spray. This was almost impossible to get out today but with some help from my wonderful husband we got there! I love facial mists, they come in very handy with my dry skin during the day both in the summer when we get some heat and all through the rest of the year when we need the heating on 🙂
ASOS – Rodial Stem Cell Magic Gel. This claims to be a 10-in-1 hydrator and tells me I can use it daily or as an intensive overnight mask. That sounds good and I think I will try it as a mask as I always have more face creams than masks 🙂
L’Occitane – Ultra Rich Shower Cream. This beautifully scented shower cream always leaves my skin feeling soft and nourished. The scent is a little sweet for me but it’s one I put up with for the benefits I get from it.
Look Fantastic – Molton Brown GingerLily Body Wash. This is quite a delicately scented body wash and I can’t decide if I like it or not, it’s kind of floral but not, kind of spicy but not. I guess the only thing to do is to give it a go properly and see what I think then 😀
M&S – Look Good Feel Better Sculpting Sponge. This was an either/or item in this calendar this year. Either you got this or you got an Ultrasun Ultralip. I’m really happy that my calendar had the sponge as I have loads of lip products but I needed a sponge for the banana powder that I found in the Look Fantastic calendar 2 days ago 🙂
Mrs Brimbles – Sticky notes!!! YAY everyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with sticky notes! I just find them really useful and you can get them in so many pretty designs these days that there’s no reason really to stick to just plain ones 🙂
You Beauty – Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. From the back of this can I cant decide exactly what this is as it says it is an alternative to dry shampoo but it also makes it sound like a root lift/volumiser. I guess I’ll find out when I use it as a root lift since I do use those and I’m in need of a new one very soon 😀
